Pauline Dunlavy, 94, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Raymond, died Tuesday, April 12, at the Manor House in Grand Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 16, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Friday, April 15, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond and also one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Pauline Dunlavy was born on November 21, 1916, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Susanna (Staurland) Skogstoe. At the age of 3, the family moved to a farm near Kerkhoven where she attended rural school. She was baptized in Iowa and confirmed at Kerkhoven Lutheran Church. On March 20, 1943, Pauline was married to Herbert "Bud" Johnson. They lived in Kerkhoven, Atwater and Raymond. Bud died in August of 1963. On August 13, 1966, Pauline married John Dunlavy and they made their home on a farm in the Raymond community. Besides being a homemaker, Pauline was employed at the S & L Clothing Store and at the Tempo Department Store in Willmar. She was member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was active in the ladies aide.
Pauline's interests included, gardening, sewing, quilting, needlework, crocheting, fishing and dancing. Many remember her for being a fantastic baker of bread and lefse.
She is survived by one son, Robert (and Mavis) Johnson of Coleraine; one grandson, Eric (and Angela) Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sisters, Fern Hjelle and Edna Kallevig, both of Willmar; and three sisters-in-law, Adeline Skogstoe, Frieda Johnson and Clara Dunlavy; besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one sister, Margit Oxenreider; and three brothers, Edwin, Kenneth and Stanley Skogstoe.
