Penny Selseth, age 80, of Willmar, died Saturday evening, January 14, at Rice Care Center in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 19 at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Penny Marie Selseth was born September 30, 1936, in Mahnomen, Minnesota, the daughter of Donald and Jeanette (Klabunde) Peet. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mahnomen. She graduated from Waubun High School in 1954. On June 14, 1955, she married Harold Selseth and they made their home in Willmar. Penny worked as a sales clerk at Tempo and Pamida and later in food service at Rice Memorial Hospital, retiring in May 2001 after 20 years at Rice. She also earned her real estate license and worked as a Realtor for several years.
She was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church, where she was active in women's circle, ALCW and altar guild. She was also a member of Mensa. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, sports, and her many cats and dogs. Her greatest love was her family and friends and the time spent with them.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Selseth; and two daughters, Kathryn Selseth and Rev.
Kerry Selseth, all of Willmar. Also surviving are a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth Selseth Noben and Myron Noben of Sun City, AZ; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother.
