Raymond K. Andersen, 91, of Sartell, died Monday, March 29, at Country Manor Care Center in Sartell.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, in the chapel at Country Manor Care Center in Sartell with Rev. Gary Skramstad officiating. A private interment will be in St. Anastasia Cemetery in Hutchinson at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Raymond Kronholm Andersen was born February 15, 1919, in Olivia, Minnesota, to Lars and Florence (Snicker) Andersen. He grew up in Olivia and graduated from Olivia High School, where he was active in sports. On April 4, 1949, he married Iona Brackelsberg Davis. They lived in Hutchinson, where Raymond worked for 3M until his retirement. Following Iona's death in 1991, Raymond moved to the Detroit Lake area. He later moved to the St. Cloud-Sartell area in 2003. Raymond enjoyed fishing, gardening and music, especially country music.
He is survived by his children, Barbara Schmidt of Eden Prairie and William (and Carol) Strommen of Plymouth; stepchildren, Ronald (and Colleen) Davis of York, NE and Marilyn (and Charles) Wheeler of Columbia, MO; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild. Also surviving are three sisters, Margaret Duarte of Monticello, Pearl Heacock of Buffalo and Mildred (and John) Sullivan of Baxter; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Iona in 1991; and two brothers.
