Raymond K. Grund, age 76, of rural Atwater, died Sunday evening, October 12, at his home on Diamond Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of St. Patrick in Kandiyohi. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Raymond Karl Grund was born June 5, 1938, in Danube, Minnesota, the son of Karl and Marie (Kremer) Grund. He grew up in the Danube area and graduated from Danube High School in 1957. He lived in the Lake Lilian area for a number of years and worked for an area farmer and later worked for 30 years for Hanson Silo Company. He then worked at Kandi Bowl in Willmar for 12 years. He has been a resident of Diamond Lake for the past 25 years.
Raymond enjoyed fishing, gardening, working on his cars, watching football and cooking. He also enjoyed taking long drives, watching Western movies and listening to Country Western music. He accepted Jesus as his Savior on March 26 of this year.
He is survived by his special friend, Rosalva Finley; three sons, Troy (and Michele) Grund of Northfield, Scott (and Madrene) Grund of Hatton, ND and Rick Grund of Renville; two daughters, Kathy Grund of Willmar and Cindy (and Richard) Kolodziejski of St. Paul; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Sube of St. James and Karen Monroe of Glencoe; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Perry.
