Raymond Lang, age 50, of Spicer, died Wednesday, October 5, at Glencoe Regional Health Services in Glencoe from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on September 17, 2016.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, at Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. Visitation will be 5-8 pm. Monday, October 10, at Peterson Brothers Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Raymond Leroy Lang was born February 23, 1966, in Gaylord, Minnesota, the son of Leroy and Karen (Tesch) Lang. He grew up in Gaylord, was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, and graduated from Gaylord High School in 1984. Ray then moved to Owatonna, where he worked for Truth Hardware. In May 1989, he married Mary Madsen. They made their home in Medford and together had four children, Christina, Michael, Brandon and Jessica. In 2001, Ray and his family moved to New London. Ray and Mary later divorced. Ray and his children then moved to Spicer. On July 29, 2006, he married Kristi Otto-Mathiowetz. Ray and his children made their home in Spicer with Kristi and her children, Joshua and Alyssa. Ray worked driving truck for Chrystler and most recently as a quality assurance specialist for DISH Network.
Ray was a longtime member of the Little Crow Ski Team and also a member of the Sno-skippers snowmobile club. He loved water sports of all kinds especially barefooting and teaching young people to waterski. He loved snowmobiles, both racing and fixing them. His other hobbies included golfing, fishing and hunting. Ray was big-hearted and loved helping people, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.
Ray is survived by his wife, Kristi of Spicer; their six children, Joshua (and Katherine) Mathiowetz of Glencoe, Christina Lang of Chicago, IL, Michael Lang of Willmar, Alyssa Mathiowetz of Hutchinson, Brandon Lang of Alexandria, and Jessica Lang of Bird Island; his parents, Leroy Lang of Winthrop and Karen Lang of Gaylord; a brother, Randy (and Tami) Lang of Glencoe; a sister, Peggy (and David) Carlson of Glencoe; his father-in-law ,Raymond Otto of Gaylord; and other relatives and friends.
