Raymundo Bazaldua-Valdez, age 66, of Willmar, died Saturday morning, August 22 at Rice Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 25, at the Church of St. Mary. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. with parish prayers at 7:30 P.M. on Monday, August 24, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Raymundo Bazaldua-Valdez was born on March 13, 1943, in Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico, the son of Raymundo Bazaldua-Gonzalez and Marcos Valdez del Rio. At a young age he immigrated to the United States. In 1960, he was married to Elma C. Moreno and they made their home in the Willmar community. Raymundo was employed for the past several years at Willmar Precast Company. He enjoyed traveling, cook outs and being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Elma of Willmar; three daughters, Margarita (and Jose) Urbina of San Antino, Texas, Olga Lidia (and Esteban) Perez of Willmar and Aurelia (and Robert) Perez of Willmar; six sons, Marcos Antonio ( and Mercedes) Bazaldua of Mexico, Jose de Jesus (and Maria) Bazaldua of Willmar, Gabriel Bazaldua of Mexico, Raymundo Jr. (and Leticia) Bazaldua of New London, Guillermo Bazaldua of Willmar and Jorge David (and Perla) Bazaldua of Willmar; twenty three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Maria Isabel and three brothers, Vicente, Horacio and Homero, all of Texas, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Maria del Refugio and three brothers, Francisco, Victoriano and Virgilio Bazaldua-Valdez.
