Richard Randall Drew was born October 15, 1930, in Gettysburg, South Dakota, the son of Walter and Agnes (Ribble) Drew. He grew up on the family farm near Gettysburg and graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1949. From 1951 to 1953, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea. On August 25, 1956, he married Josephine Larson in Vivian, South Dakota. They lived for a short time in Gettysburg, before moving to the Twin Cities area. Richard attended the Dunwoody Institute before beginning a career in commercial and industrial appraisal. He lived in Bloomington, MN and worked as an appraiser for Patchin Appraisal, later American Appraisal, until his retirement in 1991. He returned to his farm roots in 1997 when he and Josephine moved to the hobby farm where his daughter and son-in-law live near Sunburg.

Richard attended the Harbor Church in Spicer and celebrated his 79th birthday in New York City, while on a mission trip with the church. He grew even closer to the Lord later in his life. He was also a member of American Legion Post 550 in Bloomington. He enjoyed living on the hobby farm and loved taking care of the animals there, and especially loved the dogs. He was a handy man and enjoyed fixing things for friends and neighbors. He also renovated much of the hobby farm in Sunburg. Richard loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.

He is survived by his wife: Josephine; their children: Paul (and Marcia) Drew of Bloomington, Jon (and Julie) Drew of Richfield, Debra (and Brent) Larson of Sunburg and Jeremy (and Amanda) Drew of Prior Lake; fourteen grandchildren; two brothers: Walter (and Becky) Drew of Oklahoma and William (and Genie) Drew of Gettysburg, SD; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Don, Gene, Clifford and Daryl.
