Richard Larson

Richard Larson, age 62, of Atwater, died Monday, September 22, at his home in rural Atwater.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, at Rosendale United Methodist Church in rural Atwater. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, September 29, at Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Kandiyohi County Humane Society or the Kandiyohi County Historical Society.

Richard Thomas Larson was born January 23, 1952, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Arlie and Nellie (Hendrickson) Larson. He grew up on the family farm in rural Atwater and graduated from Atwater High School in 1970 and then from the automotive program at the Willmar Vo-Tech. He was employed at Gaylen's 66 Service Station, Gurley's Foods and most recently as a mechanic at Atwater Ford for several years.

Richard was a member of Rosendale United Methodist Church. He was a good mechanic and enjoyed helping others in need. He was honest, patient and kind. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing.

He is survived by three brothers, David (and Rita) Larson of Roseville, CA, Myron (and Betty) Larson of Willmar, and Robert (and Mary) Larson of Willmar; a sister, Judy (and Lyle) Jacobs of Rochester; several nieces and nephews, John, Karen, Doug, Jackie, Jen, Kevin, Don, and Molly; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
