Robert Ehrlich

Robert G. "Bob" Ehrlich, age 90, of Spicer, died Sunday morning, May 15, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, at Hope Presbyterian Church in Spicer. Interment will be in the Spicer City Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Spicer American Legion Post #545. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Robert G. "Bob" Ehrlich was born on April 27, 1926, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, the son of Earl and Beatrice (Kneebone) Ehrlich. He grew up in St. Cloud and graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1944. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served during W.W. II throughout the Pacific aboard the U.S.S. Antietam. Following his service, Bob returned to St. Cloud and later began employment with the Great Northern Railroad in Willmar as a Brakeman. On March 17, 1956, Bob was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Larson and they made their home on Nest Lake near Spicer. In 1989, Bob retired from Burlington Northern Railroad as a Conductor. He was an active member of Hope Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder. Bob was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post, Sharon Masonic Lodge, Elks, Eagle's, Zuhrah Shrine Temple and the Willmar Area Shrine Club. Bob's hobbies included fishing, golfing and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Spicer; two children, Bob (and Julie) Ehrlich of Atwater and Nancy (and Michael) Throlson of Avon and three grandchildren, Kyle Ehrlich, Beth Throlson and Matthew Throlson, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
