Robert "Bob" J. Ohman, age 75, of Willmar, died Monday morning, October 6th, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, October 10th, at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar with Rev. Barbara Johnson officiating. The interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Military honors will be presented by the Austin F. Hanscom American Legion Post 167 of Willmar. Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Robert "Bob" Ohman was born on October 29, 1932 in Willmar the son of Solveig "Toby" (Fosso) and Carl Ohman. He grew up in Willmar and received his eduction in the Willmar Schools. On September 15, 1954, he was married to LaVonne Barge in Webster, South Dakota, and they made their home in Willmar. He worked for Chappell Duct Company (now Chappell-Central, Inc.) as a sheet metal worker until his retirement. Bob went to work, as school bus driver, for Willmar Bus Service. He did that until his eye sight forced him to stop driving a school bus. Bob loved music and to sing. He was a member of the K. County Country Band for many years performing in the surrounding area and had recorded a couple of records. He was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church and the Willmar Eagles Club. He was a very humorous man and loved to tell jokes, enjoyed drawing, play guitar and to go for drives in the country.
He is survived by one son, Jerry Ohman of Kandiyohi, three grandchildren; Jeremy Ohman of New London, Chad Ohman and Tammy Ohman of Arizona, and one great grandson, besides other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife (LaVonne in 2004) and one sister (Joyce Mae Ohman).
