Robert Sheridan

Robert "Bob" J. Sheridan, age 84, of Willmar, died Saturday afternoon, October 27, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mass of Christian Burial memorial service will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, November 2, at Church of St. Patrick in Kandiyohi. The inurnment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Litchfield. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. (www.petersonbrothers.com)
Robert Joseph Sheridan was born March 9, 1928, in Straubville, ND to Joseph Francis and Esther Marie (Adamson) Sheridan. He was baptized in Straubville. The family moved to Litchfield, MN where Bob made his First Communion and was confirmed at St. Philip's Catholic Church. Bob graduated from Litchfield High School in 1946 and began his career with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He worked for the railroad for 44 years before retiring in 1990. Bob entered the caring hands of Rice Hospice on July 23, 2012 after many years of struggling with COPD. He went home to God on October 27, 2012.
Bob married Faye Stitz in April of 1948. They had five children: Michael Robert, Roberta Jo, Alison Ann, Daniel Joseph and Sherry Faye. On Dec. 2, 1972 Bob married Margaret Blackwell. They later divorced. On June 26, 1993 Bob married, who he always referred to as the "love of his life," Luella Laura (Schumacher) Stotko. They were married 19 years and lived in Willmar, MN.
Bob's passion in life was golf. He played golf until his illness would no longer allow him to do so. He was a member for years at the Valley Golf Course. He had many golf buddies, and in the later stages of illness would still dream of going out to the Valley to play a round of golf with his longtime friend, Earl. In his younger years, Bob also enjoyed softball, hunting, fishing, bowling and snowmobile racing.
Bob is survived by his wife, Luella of Willmar, five children: Michael Sheridan of Minneapolis, Roberta Jo (and Stan) Hatch of Clara City, Alison (and Paul) Naschak of Winter Park, Colorado, Daniel Sheridan of Clara City and Sherry Endfield of Buffalo, two stepchildren: Roxanne (and Cortlan) Strom of Fridley and Matthew Stotko of Maple Lake, seven grandchildren, one step grandchild and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters: Veronica Orbin of Wyoming, MN, Dorothy Simmons of Brookings, SD, Lorraine Halstrom of Largo, FL and Ruth (Floyd) Rettman of Fayetteville, NC and one brother, Gene Sheridan of Henderson, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law Dona and Jarvis Brown, brothers-in-law Gaylord Orbin, Calvin Simmons, Lester Halstrom, and Faye Sheridan.
