Ronald Johnson

Ronald "Willard" Johnson, age 65, of Raymond, died Tuesday evening, December 10, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 16, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.  Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar, www.petersonbrothers.com.

Ronald William Johnson was born May 20, 1954, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of LeRoy and Marjorie (Campbell) Johnson.  He grew up and attended school in Raymond, Minnesota and was a member of the Raymond High School Class of 1972.  He played basketball and baseball, and began pitching for the Raymond Rockets when he was 14 years old.  After high school, he began working as a mason with his father.  In 1985, he moved to Florida and continued to worked in masonry.  On May 31, 1986, he married Phyllis Maanum and they made their home in Port St. Lucie, Florida.  In 1991, they moved back to Raymond.  Ronald worked in masonry for Hempel Brothers Masonry and Double J Concrete until his retirement in 2017.  Ronald enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing basketball with his sons, and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Phyllis Johnson of Raymond, MN; three sons: Brett (and Tiffany) Johnson of Dawson, MN, Anthony Johnson (and Kim Bratsch) of Raymond, MN, and Kirby (and Ashley) Johnson of Renville, MN; eight grandchildren: Ella, Emerson, Karley, Aaron, Daltyn, Hadley, Aaralyn, and KayeLynne; two brothers: Larry (and Rose) Johnson of Port St. Lucie, FL and Roger Ruud (and Marsha Hall) of Detroit Lakes, MN; a sister: Sandra Breems of Oregon; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Bonnie Johnson and Linda Hilleren.
