Ronald Weishalla

Ronald R. Weishalla, age 60, of Willmar, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, April 5, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, at the Church of St. Mary and will continue for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Ronald Robert Weishalla was born on July 30, 1954, in Staples, Minnesota, the son of John and Dorothy (Severensky) Weishalla. He grew up in Staples and graduated from Staples High School in 1974. On March 20, 1976, Ronald was united in marriage to Brenda S. Kemp. They made their home in Staples where Ronald was employed as a pressman for Watco Publishing in Wadena. In 1982, they moved to Willmar where Ronald was employed at a manager at K.F.C. He was later employed at West Central Steel, the Print House and Lakeside Press in Willmar. Ronald's hobbies included fishing, deer hunting, playing horse shoes, bowling, camping and trying his luck at casinos. He enjoyed listening to music, especially classic rock and the oldies and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Ronald was an avid Minnesota Viking fan. He was a good friend to many!

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda of Willmar; two children, Heather (and Wade) Johnson of Kerkhoven and Ronald Weishalla Jr. (and fiancé, Deja Chhun) of Willmar; and two grandchildren, Logan and Arianna. Also surviving are three sisters, Mary Olson of Grafton, ND., Julie (and John) Hoemberg of Staples and Gloria (and James) Adamek of Long Prairie, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John "Jack"; one brother-in-law, Vern and one niece, Stephanie.
