Roselyn Beasley

Roselyn "Rose" C. Beasley, age 81, of rural Cosmos, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, June 12, at her home.

Funeral services will be 11 AM. Tuesday, June 17, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church near Cosmos. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home in Atwater, MN.

Roselyn Carol Beasley was born on January 23, 1933 on the family farm in Danielson Township near Cosmos, Minnesota, the daughter of Olga (Jensen) and Theodore Peterson. She grew up in that area, was baptized and confirmed at the Rosendale Lutheran Church and received her education in the Litchfield Schools. Rose moved to Willmar and worked as a waitress for a time. She also worked at Jennie-O Foods and the Willmar Cookie Company. On September 4, 1954, she was married to Lloyd Almon Beasley and they made their home in the Minneapolis area. They moved to the Cosmos area in the early 1960's and Rose had been an active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rose later worked at the Housekeeping Dept. at the Litchfield Hospital and did cleaning for people in the area for a few years. She enjoyed being with family and friends and like to go camping, fishing, playing cards "Polish Poker", bingo and working on puzzles.

She is survived by one son, Michael (and Dennine) Beasley of Hutchinson; and four daughters, Terri (and Matt) Lynaugh of Hutchinson, Dee Dee Mora of Hutchinson, Tami (and Mike) Newcomb of Hutchinson and Melissa (and Steve) Davis of Hutchinson. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Holmin of Lebanon, TN; and special friend, Gordy Lambertson of Ottertail.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd in 2007, two brothers; Geoff Peterson and Bruce Peterson and three sisters; Marion Miller, Harriet Reinke and Holly Meaker.
