Rosemary Irene Peters, age 99, of Willmar, passed away Tuesday morning, March 11, at Cura of Willmar.
Visitation with a Daughters of Isabella Rosary will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to honor Rosemary may be directed to the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Rosemary was born on April 20, 1925, in Foley, Minnesota, the daughter of Al and Irene (Bauerly) Plombon. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. She graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School in 1943 and attended St. Cloud Business College for 2 years. She spent a year working for the U.S. Navy Department as a stenographer during WW II in Washington D.C.
On August 1, 1946, in St. Cloud, Rosemary was united in marriage to William F. Peters Sr. They made their home in St. Cloud and were blessed with four children. The Peters' family later moved to Willmar where she has resided since.
Rosemary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Willmar where she served as an officer of the Daughters of Isabella and was active on the funeral committee for many years.
Rosemary enjoyed entertaining family and friends and was known for her culinary skills. She also enjoyed and was a very competent bridge enthusiast and a member of a beloved card group. Rosemary was kind, generous and loved by many.
Rosemary, who was always a lady, was strong in her faith and cherished anytime spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, William Jr. (and Sandy) Peters of Spicer, Kathryn George of Alexandria, Paula (and Larry) Juhl of Florence, AZ., and Mary Lynn (and Craig) Meyer of Spicer; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Sr. in 1989; a sister and brother-in-law, Vivian (and Richard) West, sister-in-law, Mary Plombon, and son-in-law, Michael George.
