WILLMAR, MN.
Ruby Ida Foote, age 77, of Willmar, died unexpectedly Saturday evening, May 13, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 17, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Underdahl-Peirce officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Kerkhoven. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, May 16, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ruby was born on August 31, 1928, on the family farm in Irving Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, the daughter of Ole and Dora (Olson) Olson. She received her education in the District #66 School and was baptized and confirmed at Nordland Lutheran Church. On December 13, 1947, she was married to Darrell E. Foote. They made their home in Kerkhoven and in 1973, moved to Willmar. Ruby worked at the Willmar State Hospital and at Rice Memorial Hospital for over 50 years, retiring in 1994 as a Ward Clerk.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and active in the womens circle. Ruby enjoyed crocheting, quilting, knitting and needlework.
She is survived by three children, Douglas (and Mari Jo) Foote of Browerville, Darlene Reichenberger of Lakeville and DeWitt (and Patricia) Foote of Willmar; 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Ruben (and Melba) Olson of Willmar and a sister, Olive Beck of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrell in December of 2005; one son, Dennis in 1984; two brothers, Donald and Ivan and one sister, Edna.
