Ruby V. Justi, 86, of New London, died Saturday, June 16, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at Bethel Baptist Church in Kerkhoven. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Kerkhoven. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar (www.petersonbrothers.com).
Ruby Virginia (Johnson) Justi was born June 11, 1926 in Arctander Township, Kandiyohi County, near Sunburg, Minnesota, the daughter of Ottelia "Tillie" Gemeena (Skinness) and Albert John Johnson. She grew up in the rural Sunburg community, was baptized and confirmed at the Kerkhoven Lutheran Church and received her education in the District 54 school. On March 18, 1945, she married Ralph Harold Justi and they made their home for several years in Des Moines, Iowa and later moved to Kerkhoven. Ruby worked for 36 years for Jennie-O Foods in Willmar. She later moved to Spicer and lived in New London for the last year.
Ruby loved baking, gardening, music and visiting with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: JoAnn (and Harold) Skaalrud of Spicer, Janice (and Darrel) Sheets of Eden Valley and Darrell (and Susan) Justi of Spicer; three grandchildren: Joe Justi of Spicer, Randy Cuka (and friend, Stephanie Strehlow) of Hanover, and Deb (and Kent) Jakubek of Amherst Jct., WI; six great-grandchildren: Courtney, Gage, Colton, Izabella, McKenna, and Parker; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Ralph in 1968; two brothers: Archie Johnson and one in infancy; and three sisters: Blanch Benson, Amanda Rood and Violet Justi.
