Rudella L. Bergeson, age 93, of Bloomington and formerly of Willmar, died Thursday morning, May 3, at Ecumen Centennial House in Apple Valley.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at Eagle Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service on Tuesday. www.petersonbrothers.com
Rudella Lovern Baklund was born on November 18, 1924, in Spicer, Minnesota, the daughter of Ruben and Lillian (Evenson) Baklund. She grew up in Spicer and attended a country school. On September 29, 1943, Rudella was united in marriage to Gordon Benhard Bergeson at the home of Gordon's parents and then they made their home in Willmar. Rudella worked as a farm wife, phone market researcher and injection molding employee for Lakeside Industries. She was a member of Eagle Lake Lutheran Church and a long time current member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall. Sewing was her hobby but she also enjoyed baking and inviting the neighborhood children to eat fresh buns and peanut butter.
She is survived by three children, Scott Bergeson of Villard, Margo Olson of San Ramon, CA., and Marnie (and William) Simpson of Savage; one daughter-in-law, Sallie Bergeson of Chanhassen; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; nineteen great great grandchildren and three great great great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Dennis (and Paisley) Baklund of Columbia Heights, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon in 1981; one son, Gerhard "Gary" in 2011; one daughter, Gloria in 2013; one son-in-law, William Olson in 2009; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Bergeson in 2014; two sisters, Doris Springfield and Joyce Boldt; and three brothers, Charles, Leonard and Gordon Baklund.
