Ruth Brown

Ruth Brown, age 98, of Atwater, died Monday, March 23, at Rice Care Center in Willmar.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Atwater with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Atwater. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home.

Ruth Christine Brown was born February 17, 1917, in Atwater, Minnesota, the daughter of Adolph and Emma (Broman) Brown. Ruth mother's passed away at childbirth and Ruth and her three siblings were raised by their grandparents. Ruth helped care for her grandparents and then in 1939 she began a 41 year career working at the Big Store in Atwater.

Ruth was a member of Arndahl Lutheran Church in rural Grove City and later Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Atwater, where she was a member of the Quilting Group. She enjoyed handwork, sewing, embroidery and quilting and made many pieces for the church. She also enjoyed vacationing with her sister Doris and her family.

Ruth is survived by two nieces, Marian Kronbeck and Kathryn Kronbeck, both of Litchfield; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Brown of Willmar.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Frances Brown and Doris Kronbeck; and a brother, Roy Brown.
