Sadie Herbst

Sadie T. Herbst, age 95, of Willmar, died Friday afternoon, October 19th, at the Infinia Care Center in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, October 23rd, at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel of Peace, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd. NE, in Minneapolis. The interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services in Minneapolis. Local arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Memorials to the St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Minneapolis are preferred.
Sadie Theresa Herbst was born on August 2, 1911 in Willmar the daughter of Hansigne Kristine (Mortensen) and Lars Frederick Larsen. She grew up in Willmar and was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Sadie received her education in the Willmar Schools and graduated from Willmar High School. She continued her education at the Calhoun Business College in Minneapolis. In 1938, at her family home in Willmar, she was married to Alfred C. Herbst. They made their home in Willmar and Sadie worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. They later moved to the Minneapolis area and she worked for the Electric Machinery Manufacturing Company as the office manager and retired after 26 years of service. She returned to Willmar in about 1999 and entered Infinia Heathcare in the spring of 2007. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Willmar and was a current member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Minneapolis.
Sadie is survived by one sister-in-law, Violet Larsen of Willmar, cousins in Denmark and several nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Alfred C. Herbst in 1999) and o
