Scott R. Evans, age 51, of New London, passed away Tuesday morning, April 24, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. with a time of sharing memories at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 11, at Peterson Brothers Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. www.petersonbrothers.com
Scott Richard Evans was born on May 31, 1966, in Appleton, Minnesota, the son of Richard and Mildred (Weber) Evans. He grew up in Appleton and graduated from Appleton High School in 1984. Scott attended St. Cloud State University and graduated with a BS degree in finance in 1988. He made his home in Otsego and was employed as an auditor at Mystic Lake Casino. In 1990, Scott was married and to this union he was blessed with two sons, Tyler and Logan. In 2000, while working at Mystic Lake Casino, Scott met the love of his life, Dodi Kay Norris. In 2005, he moved to New London. In 2014, they were married and to this union, he gained two daughters, Brittany and Stepheney. Scott was employed as an auditor at a CPA firm in Willmar for 13 years. His hobbies included golfing, deer hunting, watching the Kentucky Derby at Canterbury Park and watching NCAA basketball. He always cheered for the underdog and was a loyal Minnesota Gophers fan. Scott also enjoyed wildlife art, especially Terry Redlin prints.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dodi of New London; two sons, Tyler Evans of St. Cloud and Logan Evans of Otsego; two daughters, Brittany Norris of New London and Stepheney (and Corey) Nielsen of Benson; his mother, Mildred Evans of Appleton; two sisters, Nancy (and Bob) Kulseth of Spicer and Mary Dela Cruz (and Brad Voorhees) of Appleton; and his father-in-law, Everett Adams of Shafer, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard and his mother-in-law, JoAnn Adams.
