Shannon Kent

Shannon M. Kent, age 48, of Alexandria, formerly of Willmar, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 16, at her home in Alexandria.

Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, February 22, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar.  Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.  Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Sunday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the services at the church. Shannon Marie Kent was born on March 18, 1967 in Morris, Minnesota, the daughter of Isabel Ann (Hughes) and Stanley John Kent.  She grew up in Morris and received her education in the Morris schools, graduating from Morris High School in 1985.  She worked at the Morris Commercial Printing Company for several years.  On September 6, 1986, she was married to Jeffrey Hennen at the Catholic Church in Morris.  She moved to Willmar in 1994 and continued to work for the Printing Company in Morris before going to work for Ed Davis Business Machines in Willmar in 1997.  In 2012 Shannon and Scott moved to the Alexandria area and Shannon worked as a kitchen and bath designer for Cullen's Home Center in Alexandria.   She enjoyed antiquing and repurposing things, decorating, riding motorcycle and reading.  Shannon loved being with and entertaining family and friends.

She is survived by her life partner, Scott Davis of Alexandria, two sons; Derek (and Jessica Burke) Hennen of Alexandria and Jarod (and Stephanie) Hennen of Willmar and one granddaughter, Avery Hennen.  She is survived by her father, Stanley Kent of Morris, three brothers; Steve (and Nancy) Kent of Breckenridge, Tim (and Julie) Kent of Tyler and Kevin (and Sherri) Kent of Underwood and two sisters; Coleen Berneking of Breckenridge and Shawn Kent of Benson, besides other relatives and friends.

Shannon was preceded in death by her mother, Isabel Kent and one nephew, Brian Kent.
