Shirley Bugbee

Shirley Ann Bugbee, age 84, of Willmar, passed away Thursday afternoon, Jan. 21, at Vista Prairie at Copperleaf in Willmar.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date at the Harbor Four Square Church in Spicer.  A private graveside service will be held at Big Grove Lutheran Cemetery near Brooten.  Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Shirley Ann Bugbee was born on June 27, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She grew up in the Brooten community, graduated from Brooten High School in 1954 and then graduated from St. Cloud Teachers College.  She taught Special Education prior to the program being established in Minnesota.  She was involved in numerous teaching capacities with Special Education in the Minneapolis area.  On June 12, 1976, Shirley was united in marriage to Donald E. Bugbee.  They made their home in Minneapolis and moved to Willmar in 1980.    Shirley was always active in her church and youth ministry programs.  She was a member of the Harbor Four Square Church.

She is survived by her husband, Donald of Willmar.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
