Shirley Ann Loeffler, age 77, of Pennock, formerly of Willmar and Waterville, MN, died Friday afternoon, October 18, at her home in Pennock of natural causes.
Services will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, October 26, at the Waterville Evangelical Methodist Church in Waterville, Minnesota. The interment will be in the Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville. Shirley Ann Loeffler was born on January 12, 1936, in Waterville, Minnesota, the daughter of Kathryn Elizabeth (Kritizer) and Alfred H. Morris, Sr. She grew up on the family farm near Waterville, attended school in Waterville and graduated from Waterville High School in 1954. In December of 1956, she was married to Kenneth Spear and they made their home in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she raised her family. Ken died in a trucking accident. She married Bill Ferguson in 1963 in Cincinnati. Shirley returned to Waterville, Minnesota in 1977 and on February 11, 1978, she was married Robert Lee Loeffler. They made their home in Willmar, Minnesota, where they managed apartments in the community for 20 years and Robert had an appliance repair business. They retired in 1990 and moved to Pennock in 1998 where she has lived since. Shirley was a member of Eastern Star serving as Worthy Matron in 1985-1986 and she was a past member of the Civil Air Patrol and enjoyed volunteering with the Boy Scouts and other things to help with young people. She also enjoyed and passed on her love of piano/music to her grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons; Terry (and Ursula) Spear of Germany, Scott (and Lorie) Spear of Waseca and Jeffrey Leinen of Nebraska and one daughter, Sheila Ferguson of Maple Grove. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one brother, Robert (and Janet) Morris of Waterville.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, two grandchildren, one brother (Alfred "Bill" Morris, Jr.) and one sister (Margaret "Betty" Schwanke).
