Stanley Hoff

April 28, 1922 — September 1, 2019

Stanley R. Hoff, age 97, of Willmar, died Sunday evening, September 1, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 7, at the Sunburg Free Lutheran Church with Rev. Ronald Knutson officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in the Lake Johanna Cemetery.

Stanley Richard Hoff was born April 28, 1922, in Dunn County, North Dakota, the son of Sigvald and Christine (Medalen) Hoff.  His family moved to the Brooten, Minnesota area, where he grew up and received his education.  Stanley served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II.  Following his discharge, he moved to Willmar.  He was employed at Hanson Silo Company, Lloyd’s Service Station in Pennock, and for many years at Jennie-O Foods in Willmar.  Stanley was a kind and gentle man.  He enjoyed woodcarving, stained glass, and puzzles. Since 2013, he had resided at the Minnesota State Veterans Home in Luverne.  Thanks to the staff for his excellent care.

He is survived by a brother: Ronald Hoff of Brooten, MN; four sisters: Cora Myhre of Kerkhoven, MN, Audrey Sondrol of Sunburg, MN, Glenda Paulson of Brooten, MN, and Marilyn Zilmer of Babbitt, MN; a sister-in-law: Sandy Hoff of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Clifford, Oral, Willard, and Kenneth; and a sister: Gilma Olson.
