Steven Ray Van Hove, age 61, of Willmar, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 26, at his residence.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Steven Ray Van Hove was born on June 30, 1955, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Ervin and Shirley (Mattson) Van Hove. He grew up on the family farm near Clara City and later moved to Hutchinson where he attended high school and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was married to Earline Wills and they made their home in Willmar. Steve was employed as a truck driver for Ammermann Trucking. He later moved out to Washington and was employed with Lawry Trucking. In 1998, Steve returned to Willmar. Steve's hobbies included visiting with family and friends, fishing, men's bible study and singing and playing music, especially old time hymns and country.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (and Chad) Kompelien of Willmar; two grandchildren, Michael and Brianna; four siblings, Brad (and Sylvia) Van Hove of Lanett. AL., Larry (and Sandi) Van Hove of Raymond, Connie Gough of Milton, WA., and David (and Shari) Van Hove of Renville; several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Tad Gough of Des Moines, WA., besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gary in 2000; and two sisters, Lois and Becky.
