Vicky J. (Dengerud) Mueller, age 50, of Atwater, died Wednesday afternoon, February 26, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar after a lengthy battle with brain and lung cancer.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home (www.petersonbrothers.com).
Vicky was born October 19, 1963, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Benart and Diane (Flenniken) Dengerud. She grew up north of Atwater and attended Atwater schools. She worked at Jennie-O Foods before staying at home to raise her family at their home on Lake Elizabeth. In 2004, she moved to Willmar. Vicky then worked as a human service technician for the State of Minnesota until she retired due to her health.
Vicky was also active in pool league and even played in tournaments in Las Vegas. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, planting flowers, and spending time at Lake Elizabeth. She also loved her dogs and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children: Tanya (and Jesse) Meyer of Atwater, Shane (and Elizabeth) Dengerud of Sauk Rapids, and Brianna Dengerud (and fiance, Armando Gamez) of Willmar; four grandchildren: Josephine Meyer, Jordan Meyer, Jathan Dengerud, and Nevaeh Gamez; her mother: Diane (and Reuben) Borth of Willmar; four sisters: Judiene Brown of Annandale, Louanne Villnow of Willmar, Debra (and Mark) Tagtow of Rose Hill, KS, and Pamela Dengerud of Buffalo; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Benart Dengerud and her stepmother, Marlys Dengerud.
