Vincent "Vince" P. Schorn, 84, of Willmar, died Wednesday, December 1, at Bethesda Heritage Center Nursing Home in Willmar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 9, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM with a Parish Prayer service at 4:30 PM and a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, December 8, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Vincent "Vince" Philip Schorn was born October 12, 1926, in St. Clair, Minnesota, the son of Jacob and Kathryn (Thissen) Schorn. He grew up and received his education in the rural Raymond area. On March 30, 1948, Vince was married to LaRayne Ruppert and they lived and farmed near Kerkhoven for many years. He was a past member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Raymond and current member of the Church of St. Mary. For the past 11 years, Vince has resided in health care facilities in Willmar.
Vince enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. He was a dedicated farmer and family man with a good sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife: LaRayne Schorn of Willmar; three sons: Thomas Schorn of Canton, SD, Randy Schorn of Sioux Falls, SD and Joseph Schorn of Brooklyn Center; two daughters: Rebecca (and Larry) Ulrich of Avon and Laura (and Mark) Miller of Rockford, WA; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: Jacob (and Mary Lou) Schorn of Willmar, Robert Schorn of Willmar and Philip Schorn of Park Rapids; one sister: Regina (and Robert) Shaffer of De Bary, FL; three sister-in-laws: Janice Schorn of Bloomington, Lois Schorn of Lakeview, AR., and Margaret Schorn of Clara City; and one brother-in-law: Thomas Worms of Lakeview, AR., besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Anthony, Eugene and Stanley Schorn; and two sisters: Mary Johnson and Susan Worms.
