Violet M. Henderson, age 95, of Paynesville and formerly of Spicer, died Friday evening, Dec. 21, at the Koronis Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, at the First Baptist Church in Willmar. Interment will be at the Spicer City Cemetery. Violet Marie Henderson was born on July 12, 1917, in Green Lake Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Esther (Gabrielson) Henderson. She grew up and attended rural school near Diamond Lake. Violet worked in manufacturing for Boeing in Seattle, Washington and at the Arsenal plant in New Brighton, Minnesota. She was later employed at the Willmar Regional Treatment Center as a LPN, retiring in 1983.
Violet resided in Spicer for most of her life. She began playing the piano at a very early age and shared that talent throughout her life. She enjoyed performing for her family and gave concerts around the community.
She is survived by one niece, Mary (and Steve) Erlandson of Grand Forks, ND.; and two nephews, Jeff Henderson of Spicer and Roger (and Elvira) Henderson of Mounds View, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Verlane Loken and Vivian Henderson.
