Violet Naber, age 90, of Willmar, died Thursday afternoon, June 14, at Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home in Willmar.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be 9 a.m. Monday, June 18, at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Violet Naber was born on May 6, 1922 in Pennock, Minnesota the daughter of Gerit William and Jennie (Huisman) Naber. She grew up and received her education in the Pennock area. Violet then attended LPN training at the Vocational School of Nursing affiliated with St. Barnabas Hospital in Minneapolis, graduating in 1948. She worked 23 years at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and later at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis. Violet then went to work as a Medical Secretary at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, working there 16 years until her retirement in 1987. After her retirement, Violet enjoyed doing volunteer work at the hospital, traveling, music and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by one sister: Ruby Naber of Willmar and two sisters-in-law: Harrietta Naber of Renton, Washington and Dorothy Naber of Mosses Lake, Washington and many nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and friends.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Edwin, LeRoy and Paul Naber; 4 sisters: Wilma Naber, Leone Hanson, Margaret Hanson and Rose Miller; one sister-in-law: Ella Naber and three brothers-in-law: Carlton Hanson, John Miller and Clifford Hanson.
