Virgiline Lindquist

Virgiline Mae Lindquist, age 78, of rural Pennock died Wednesday evening, May 9th, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, May 15th, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M., Monday and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home. The interment will be at the Nannestad Cemetery north of Pennock.
Virgiline Mae Lindquist was born March 12, 1929 in Elbow Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of Sarah Avis (Dill) and Albert Leroy Brainard. At the age of 2, her family moved to Glenwood, Minnesota and later to a farm in the Glenwood area. She attended District 33 in Minnewaska Township and graduated from Glenwood High School. Following high school she completed Teacher's Training and taught country school near Terrace and at District 56 in Arctander Township. On August 25, 1951, in New London, she married Glen Arnold Lindquist and they made their home on his farm in Arctander Township. Shortly afterwards, Virgiline decided to devote herself to husband, children and the family farm. Four children were born to their union. Virgiline and Glen shared 51 years together, Glen died in 2003. Virgiline was a natural teacher and taught her children, grandchildren and others around her the beauty in art, music and the world around us.
She is survived by two sons; Lowell (and Lois) Lindquist of Mahtomedi and William (and Mary) Lindquist of Pennock, two daughters; Nancy Lindquist of Coon Rapids and Diana (and Dennis) Murphy of Sunburg, twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers; Aaron (and Billie) Brainard of Michigan, Charles Brainard of Glenwood and James Brainard of Glenwood and two sisters; Lu (and Gene) DeMartelaere of Parkers Prairie and Catherine Brainard of Parkers Prairie, besides other relatives and friends. Virgiline was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Glen in 2003) and one step granddaughter (Melissa Rex).
