Vivian Henrietta Larson, age 84, of Willmar, died Wednesday morning, July 12th, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, July 17, in the Fireside Room of the Willmar United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Haack officiating. A private interment will be in the Cloverleaf Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Memorials are preferred to the Willmar United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
Vivian Henrietta Larson was born September 23, 1921, in Holland Township, near Raymond, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Hannah (Rademacher) Freese. She grew up and received her education in the Raymond community, graduating from Raymond High School in 1939. She attended cosmetology school in Minneapolis. In 1941, she married Melvin Parson and they made their home in Willmar. In 1972, she married Harold Larson. She worked as a nurses aide at Bethesda Homes from the early 1970s until the late 1990s. She was an active member of the Willmar United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and on the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliaries in Willmar.
She is survived by two children: Darrell (and Gail) Parson of Tucson, Arizona and Virginia (and Keith) Howes of Parker, Colorado; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Parson in 1964 and Harold Larson in 1989 and a sister, Joyce Cross.
