Wayne Benard Hanson

Wayne B. Hanson, age 82, of Willmar, passed away Wednesday, May 18, at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Wayne Benard Hanson was born on October 4, 1939, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Arthur and Ellen (Wickstrom) Hanson.  He grew up and received his education in Willmar and was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church.  In July of 1963, Wayne was married to Arilla Peterson and made their home in Willmar.  They later moved to a farm near Hawick where they raised and cared for turkeys.  He was later employed Willmar Manufacturing and at Mammouth Industries in Minneapolis.  Wayne enjoyed deer hunting, fishing (all summer and winter), attending auctions and visiting with people.

He is survived by one son, Robert Hanson of Glenn Falls, NY., besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arilla in 1996; his special friend of over 25 years, Pauline DeLage; three brothers, Arlow, Ronnie and Dennis; and one sister, Elda.
