Will was born on June 29, 1981 in Willmar to Paul and Deb Vossen. He grew up in the Hopkins area and graduated from Hopkins High School in 1999. As a child he was a member of the Hopkins Swim Club and the Boy Scouts. Will was an artist who enjoyed graphic design, jewelry making and had a love of music. He enjoyed building things and working with his father designing and building a motorcycle and restoring old cars.
Will was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was a junior in High School which set the direction of his life. Family became his central focus with the goal of helping people who had cancer. He was selected to be on the design board for the remodeling project at Minneapolis Children's Hospital where he made recommendations to help make every child's hospital stay less frightening.
As a graduate of the Minneapolis Academy College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Animation and Graphic Design, Will used his creative talent in designing logos and posters. He created the new logo for the Willmar Cardinal swimming banner.
The family moved back to the Spicer area in 2000 to be near family and friends. Will's signature logo became the family catch phrase, "Where there's a Will, There's a Way". To encourage hope and a positive attitude when dealing with cancer, Will designed and sold hats and t-shirts to raise money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. He has been a featured speaker for several years at the Minnesota Ride for Kids and has been instrumental in raising money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
Will is survived by his parents, his sister, Valerie (and Paul) Jeffery and niece, Taylor, of Annandale; Grandparents; Jarres Vossen of Willmar, Arnie and Shirley Vossen of Willmar, and George and Del Voorhees of Spicer, and many other extended family members.
