Wyman R. Skoglund, age 85, of Red Wing, died Saturday evening, February 11, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park Care Center in Red Wing.
Funeral services will be 12 noon on Thursday, February 16, 2012, at the Svea Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Wyman Robert Skoglund was born March 31, 1926, in Willmar, the son of Walter and Nettie(Haroldson) Skoglund. He attended schoolatDistrict 68 in Fahlun Township and Willmar High School. He also attended the Morris Agriculture School. He farmed in Fahlun Township for over 45 years. On October 6, 1973, he married Emma (Hustoft) Brown. They moved into Willmar in 1989 and to Red Wing in 2001.
Wyman was a charter member of the Kandi-o-hi-lo Barbershop Chorus and sang with the group for 22 years. He was also a lifelong member of Svea Lutheran Church and sang in the churchchoir and men's chorus.
He is survived by his wife: Emma Skoglund of Red Wing, MN; a son: Clint (and Patty) Skoglund of Mantorville, MN; three grandchildren; a brother: Vernell (and Donna) Skoglund of New Richmond, WI; two sisters: Joyce Johnson of Fridley, MN and Harriet (and Roy) Anderson of Coon Rapids, MN; and other relatives and friends.
He was precededin death by his parents; and three brothers: Marvin, Howard and David.
