Yvonne “Vonnie” Phyllis Madsen went home to meet her heavenly father on September 16, 2020 after a 7 year battle with Dementia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25, at the A/G Church in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to The Alzheimer’s Association. She was born in Princeton, Minnesota on January 20, 1936. She attended school in Princeton and was active in Choir and Girls Athletics. She was employed at the University of Minnesota Hospital in St. Paul as a nurse’s aide over the summer in her later high school years. She married Harry Madsen on November 19, 1962, and to this union they were blessed with three daughters: Lisa, LaVonne and Lynelle “Amy”. She also had two sons from a previous marriage, Lonnie and Timothy. Yvonne was a homemaker and cared for her special-needs daughter on a full-time basis. Her faith was very important to her and she enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music. She is survived by her sister, Sylvia (and Ronnie) Scheimo; two daughters, Lyn “Amy” (and Jason) Mock and Lisa Salem; two sons, Lonnie (and Debbie) Ostrom and Timothy (and Darnell) Ostrom and several grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Harry; her parents; three sisters; two brothers and her daughter LaVonne.
