Zachary was born in Willmar, Minnesota on June 5th, 1994 to Francis and Paula (Nelson) Pistulka. He graduated from Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City High School in 2013. Prior to his senior year of high school, Zachary enlisted in the Army National Guard. He graduated from training in August of 2013 and became a soldier of the Minnesota Army National Guard.
Zachary was strong is his beliefs in our Lord, Jesus Christ. Although, he was not an avid church goer, he was often seen at night reading scripture from his bible or wearing his cross. As a young boy, he attended Rosary with his grandfather. When he grew older, he devoted time to learning more about his faith and its origins.
Zachary enjoyed hunting, fishing, expanding his knowledge of history, and spending time with friends and family, especially his niece and nephew. His niece would tell you, "picking on me is his way of saying he loves me". He was known for his vibrant smile, sparkle in his deep blue eyes, sense of humor, and ability to tell a great, possibly elaborate, story. He was a dreamer and always had the next million-dollar idea. Zachary's kindheartedness left an impression on everyone he encountered. His generosity and smile were contagious. His passion for others was a gift he embraced on a daily basis, from being a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen, or a jokester to place a smile on a troubled face. His many talents will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rock Steady, Roll Easy, little brother.
Zachary is survived by his parents, Francis Pistulka of Grove City and Paula Pistulka of Atwater, one brother, Jared Pistulka, one sister, Jacklyn (Justin) Frericks, and his paternal grandmother, Rose Pistulka of Willmar and maternal grandmother, Marge Nelson of Atwater, along with other relatives and friends.
